Are you a procrastinator?

Have you always wanted to be a writer but not sure where to start?

Fear of failure?

Believe me, I would have answered yes to all these a week ago.

Ever since I was in high school I wanted to be a storyteller. I had already started writing poems back then but I hardly knew how to tell a story. But as you know how one thing leads to another, I became an engineering graduate and started working in an IT company instead.

But a few days back, while scrolling through Instagram, I came across this workshop on content writing and I instantly knew I had to start here. This year anyway was pushing me to do what’s worth my time.

About the workshop on content writing

It was a simple 6-day workshop but those 6 days compensated for all my years of dreaming to be a writer.

The workshop was held online by contentvidhya and I am more than glad I signed up for it. Our trainer, Uma Madhavi, literally took us on a journey and kept us hooked throughout.

What I learned

I had never attended a workshop that taught you from the very basic yet made sure you grew throughout the training. Each session kept me engaged and kept me wanting for more. From Content Writing to Copy Writing, from Storytelling to Blogging, from finding your Niche to finding your answers, every concept blew my mind away. The training was very easy to follow and there were Q&A sessions to help us through even the smallest concern and query.

What I loved doing

The assignments given to us at the end of each day were more of a reward than homework. It made me curious about what I am capable of and left a sense of achievement every time I finished and submitted the final draft.

Putting my thoughts and feelings into words always helps me get through tough times and it allows me to break free of my limitations. After all there’s something blissful and therapeutic about writing, Isn’t there?

This workshop was really a great opportunity for me and many others. Especially with this year being a testing time for all of us, I was really looking forward to having an experience of a lifetime, doing what I love the most.

This was my first step towards becoming a storyteller and even though I have a long way to go, I will always look back to this day with much gratitude and love.

What about you? What inspired you this year to follow your dreams? Hope you have taken your first step and if not, now is the time!!

I am a storyteller and I believe we all live in someone's story. I hope to be 'someone' for many.
